Will Crane
Found this Anvil on Gumtree, a Craigslist for Australia. Could anyone tell me what Brand of anvil it is, and whether its worth purchasing? swedefiddle
That is a London Pattern Anvil. It used to be an old rock :) . If you were to clean up the sides and rub chalk on it, you may find it's makers name. It looks like a Peter Wright, but I may be Wrong. If you don't have an Anvil, it is at least twice better than the one you have. :) :) Neil
Pulsepushthepopulace
Looks like a very serviceable 162 pound Hay-Budden... With an abnormally thick heel... then again, there are a great many look-alike english pattern anvils...
Will Crane
I'll check it out next weekend and make sure it rings, as well as check out the bit of an indent at the end. Otherwise I'll see if I can message the seller, and see if I can a name on it.
LastRonin
My understanding is that rebound is more important than ring.
Will Crane
Does anyone have any concerns over the small chip near the Hardy Hole?
Pulsepushthepopulace
looks like a gouge from a torch, trivial blemish at best, but use it as a bartering point...
