basher
The Viking Blacksmith’s knife is also known as a Viking knife, Blacksmith’s knife and also a Viking lady’s knife (although I have never seen an original historic specimen in a museum.) The knife and handle are forged from one piece of steel. I have forged these knives to feel good in the hand, rendering them a neat and useful little side knife as well a reliable using tool. The blades are hardened and double tempered and the handles left unhardened and resilient. I forge these blades from the offcuts of my hand forged swords so in some sense, although they are a small knife they are the sons and daughters of my swords………. All these knives come with a snug fitting sheath made from whet molded oak tanned leather and hang in a few different orientations...for belt or thong. I really enjoy the simplicity of one piece knives..... the blades are 4 to 7 inches long.... all the best Owen long twised damascus small and wavy W2 with hamon en45 plain and simple

doc
Nice and simple blades, good way to make a little more from what might be considered waste. I like the way you made the sheaths by twisting at the belt loop!

gearhartironwerks
I find these knives to be inspirational. Thanks for sharing. John
ThomasPowers
Since I haven't been able to document them either I've stopped calling them "viking" and just call them small useful knives. Anyone have a good cite on an extant original?

EtownAndrew
I like them. I have never quite seen that handle style before. I might give that a try sometime.
Charles R. Stevens
What ever you call them, there beautiful. The handles are indeed elegant, and the blade shapes clean and usefull. Wouldn't mind a set in my kitchen.
TheoRockNazz
Owen these are beautiful! I especially like the way the tang has a tapered flatten. Your all-steel knives have been inspiring me since you used a damascus one to stir the coke that first day.
ThomasPowers
I remember the looks I got when I once dug a firepit with a largish pattern welded sceax---I had made it and so I couldn't do anything to it that I couldn't "fix"...

neg
They're really nice. I liked them so much that I made one for myself tonight. :P I twisted my handle though, turned out to look pretty nice. :)
