Daniel Lea (AKA 99pppo) Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Hey fellows! This is me forging a European style socketed shorter bodkin arrow head for target practice. I was making these arrow heads for my own needs because I am building some arrows at the moment. In the end of the video you can see some other heads alongside with the one I forged, inter alia also a Manchurian style tanged arrow head about which I am soon going to make a tutorial video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=TiouujzZ2ws This video is more of artistic nature, but I show all steps, so it also services as tutorial as well. You can also see a picture of the arrrow heads I made along with the one in the video as an attachment to this post. Your - Daniel Quote
Stephen Olivo Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Very nice looking arrow heads. Thanks for the fun video to watch. :D Quote
Daniel Lea (AKA 99pppo) Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 The difference between my arrow head and the Agincourt head is not too big... just a little bit longer and flatter taper... Quote
Sukellos Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 A very nice video and nice work too! Here is a recent attempt of mine. The leaf-shaped point is 3.5 in. (8.9 cm) long and 3/4 in. (1.9 cm) wide at the widest point. The socket is more or less 3/8 in. (10mm) at the mouth. Quote
Joe Davidson Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 very nicely made, but the cinematography is brilliant Quote
