setlab Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Next week I'm going out to the hardware store to get what I need for a gas forge. Does it really matter what diameter pipe and or tubing I use for the idler assembly and the connection between the idler and burners? Also, I'm pretty set on using the reil style burner; I was wondering instead of drilling a small hole for propane to come out if I could drill and tap a wire welder tip in place of the small hole? I don't know with the welding tip if it will affect performance or not due to the length of the nozzle. Quote
LarryM Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Yes, You can drill and tap for wire welding tip, but you will have to use one with the same size hole. Another way is to drill and tap for carburator metering jet. I think you can still buy them auto parts store. Larrry Quote
setlab Posted November 21, 2012 Author Posted November 21, 2012 I'll have to check out the carb mettering jet sizes out there, that's a pretty good idea. The more I thought about it my original question is kind of a dumb one, I figured out what sizes I'll use. Quote
Steve Sells Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Hard for us to suggest a stabdard size when the world wide web covers the world, and we have no idea what part of it you are located in. Or if your area is imperial or metric. Quote
