genexer Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 That's pretty cool, what's it made out of? Thanks Shawn. We used a 1080 steel blank (1/8 X 1 1/4 X 8 I believe). Took us hours to complete, but the instructor hammered one out in 5 minutes. We all felt pretty small lol. Nice Job for a first Knife! Can't wait to see more! Welcome to IFI. This is an awesome site! Plenty of resources available! Thanks for sharing. Thanks Loneforge for the compliment and the welcome. Glad I found it. So far good people and info. Quote
Steve Sells Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I would rather see a blade like yours that took many hours, than some of the 15 minute rush jobs I see a lot of, you took your time to get what you were taught and you did well. and while many of us can do a good blade in a few minutes hammering, you will also in a few years. do not feel bad that someone is better or faster today, its all from practice. Woody Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 I tell people you can have good or you can have fast but you can't have good and fast. Remember that the only one you need to please is you. Quote
