lakeside forge
Hello all, I haven't been on IFI in a while but here is my new piece! This is a Tree lamp thingy for the Ocmulgee Blacksmith Guild auction (to raise money for the guild). I would love to know what you think, and any tips would be gladly accepted! Thanks alot for all the GREAT Blacksmithing tips and support. Yours in Blacksmithing, Lakesideforge Steven B.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dhO4b_YQjI&list=UULQj-FSPRBT7xXp3Z9vzmVw&index=1&feature=plcp

John B
I too like it but I would be concerned about where the wire/cord enters the trunk at the base. In th Uk we have strict rules about wires being restrained, and wherever they pass through parts there should be grommets to prevent chafing, and potential electrical shorting out.I understand you are on a lower voltage over in the US, but it is still good professional practice to incorporate these details. Should do well in the auction.
lakeside forge
The voltage here is 110. But Wes I'm going to get some tape to cover the cord there to keep it from doing that. BtW I'm going to the UK soon and would like to know where I could get a converter fron Europ to american power.
BIGGUNDOCTOR
You can get rubber grommets at most good hardware stores. You can also get power converters there too, they are not that hard to find. I have even seen them at thrift stores, and malls. The sets usually have a series of connectors to match most everythig up to each other. We use transformers to convert to 110V for on site work here in the UK, can be quite bulky, but for domestic appliances, there should be something more handy to transport about. Try something along these lines http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/370618836292?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&cbt=y
