Help with 300 lb. Beaudry

Recommended Posts

Ok Jim tried again , may work. So she may be arriving in a few weeks. Just a 50 lb but I a have a few more hammers which may end up here. She has quite a history and the owner wanted to keep her in Canada I can pour a 18 inch footing with 6x6 hard wood in between. hope that will hold her down

hey there beaudry owners,
i recently acquired a number 6 champion. i've pulled the bull wheel and clutch assembly and all looks good there and i got 'er back on. now i'm tackling the front side. got it all apart and then back on and now am trying to set height of top die. specs say 1 1/4" space between dies. what's the best way to do this?
and how do i ensure that my brass wedge is located correctly?
any answers, observations, or moral support would be greatly appreciated!
thanks,
hunter

Well, either move the eccentric up or down or drive out the wedge and position the saw toothed watacha doogie higher or lower. A word to the wise......Put a say 4-6'' wood block between the jaws and rest the upper die on it cause if it falls it's a booger to raise up to where you can pick up the WD again....;-) Pics of where it is now would help.
