teenylittlemetalguy
I had heard of these before, but this short (31 sec) video showed up today, and I had to share. Not to spoil it, but watch what happens when all your popcorn pops at once. PS- Grant thanks for the note on posting video.
pkrankow
I have seen videos on puffed rice that use a similar method. A pressure cooker is heated and the lid is released, so they all expand at once. Phil
teenylittlemetalguy
Yeah, looks like I might be the only one impressed, but it sure looks fun to me.
Nakedanvil - Grant Sarver
I've seen street vendors all over Asia with those. Scares the carp outta when they pop em open. What General Mills used to call "shot from guns"! You can puff (pop) any grain and a lot of other things with one. Can use any corn, doesn't need to be popcorn. Puffed wheat, ruffed rice, puffed corn. Still trying to bring one in, think they're around $300.
teenylittlemetalguy
Still trying to bring one in, think they're around $300. No way!? If you seriously can find them for sale, I would LOVE to have one! tell me where to send the money and your finders fee. It would be pretty neat to make my own puffed rice cereal. Nakedanvil - Grant Sarver
Having finessed a few things through customs before I know to declare "FOR DECORATIVE PURPOSES". Just like a large serving plate can be for use or wall-hanging. Customs is very strict on food-related stuff. We'll see, my wife will be in Korea next month. teenylittlemetalguy
yeah, customs is a funny business. I promise to hang the hammer on the wall as art, if it helps. ;)
