Iron Falcon 72
Rotation on an LG25. Does it make any difference?

Thomas Dean
Nope, no differnce. I know some guys that will switch the rotation every year. Their thinking is that it will give a more even wear on the hammer. May make a difference if you have a brake on your's.
monstermetal
It can make a difference if the hammer has a brake, other words your pretty safe running it any way you like
Nakedanvil - Grant Sarver
Only other reason I've seen is a slack-belt clutch.
dsloan
The only difference I've seen in rotation. Is if the hammer is used and you only do a partial rebuild. Then you should try and keep rotation the same. I've worked on a friends hammer that he added a new motor, but had the rotation the wrong way. It had actually wore in one way and would not run good in the direction he had it running in. It was an old style hammer. The ram guide had wore on one side more than the other. Once reversed it really woke up. Dave from Diller
