Countryboy39067
My brother-in-law calls me up and asked did I want this old drill press. I said sure, be there in a jiffy. It's a little froze up but it's a Champion brand belt driven drill press stamped 1904!!! I'm tickled red, white and blue!!!
arftist
My brother-in-law calls me up and asked did I want this old drill press. I said sure, be there in a jiffy. It's a little froze up but it's a Champion brand belt driven drill press stamped 1904!!! I'm tickled red, white and blue!!! The old machine tools had plain, babbit or bronze bearings. All of which were oiled daily. The holes for oiling are gravity oriented. There is at least one for every bearing. Often they are clogged but can be cleaned by hand with a drill bit. Good luck with your press.
Countryboy39067
I got it all freed up using BD 7-77 penetrating oil. Any suggestion on motor size?
eric sprado
Just sold my Champion camelback drill press. They are a pretty impressive machine! Motor size: Mine had a 1 horse 1750 RPM. They were made for SLOWER motor than that but those are getting pretty hard to come by so use smallest sheave you can on the motor.
Countryboy39067
I'm unable to post pictures of it. Can anybody tell me I it's a complete unit if I email them a photo?
Paul H
I’ve got one in the shop if the house u just bought. I will be digging it out shortly and putting it up to sell. I’d rather see it put back into service instead of scrapped.
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
Welcome from the Ozark Mountains. If you are planning on selling it, list it here in the classified section. Be sure and read the classified rules before posting. Make sure you show a location for it. I can't control the wind, all I can do is adjust my sail’s. Frosty
Welcome aboard Paul, glad to have you. To go along with Randy's suggestion to put your general location in the header I'll add. Please do not use TEXT SPEAK on the forum it has members in about 150 countries around the world most using translation programs so speaking simple basic English saves many of the 60,000 members bandwidth and time.
