Sask Mark
Cool ideas! This project has a bunch of 45M and 55M bar in it (metric versions 1 3/4" and 2 1/4" rebar). That is a great use for the drops.
Frank Turley
I've been using the little brother, 250#, of your anvil for about four years, and it has stood up well to the work. It is sitting in a steel box of sand and fastened with all-thread and nuts to keep it from shifting; it is not very noisy. http://www.turleyforge.com Granddaddy of Blacksmith Schools

ironstein
Rhrocker, pm me your info and i will get you some 12" pieces, i am swimming in the stuff i throw tons of it in the scrap bin at the jobsite all the time. The #18's are hard to come by, but i can get you some #11 bar for sure. Maybe some big stuff too, i'll check the next time i am at our yard. I just started a big job and i am the foreman so i can take small amounts of scrap. Brian

abbeyornamental
That is a great looking anvil. I have heard they are cast right up the road from me in Phoenix. Does anyone know if this is true? Arizona is where the last several batches were cast, that particular foundry is not interested in pouring any more anvils.
