Who are the people that do this to anvils

HAHAHAHHAHAHAaaaaa well at least its just paint, Ive come across more anvils than I want to remember that had funny things welded to the top, like hammer, tongs, signs, chain, ext ext

paint jobs like that, for me, fall into the same category as nail polish and clothes on dogs. in other words its all unnecessary(spelling??) window treatment. and embarrasign for the one wearing it.

well look at it this way.
at least those anvils have probably lasted better outside than they would have without the paint job.

Yea it looks in really good nick and I don't mind the black body I could even live with the red horn, it would get burnt off eventually anyway, but butterflies is a step to far.

Well they didn't *damage* it. I'd had liked to see the face before bidding on that one myself. Could be a mass of chisel cuts on it below the lasts.

Far better to have it dressed up to play dollies with than to have it used as an air arc gouging fixture which I have seen many times in anvils from industrial locations.
