E.F. Thumann
I headed over to my blanchard-grinding friend's scrapyard for a big piece of stock this morning to mount my new anvil on, and was walking around a bend, and came upon these. I asked if they were what I thought they were:) He's doing a re-grind for a forge shop, the dies have been re-paired by flood-welding and peening (the standard practice in large press forging die repairs these days). Dimensions are approx. 18" deep, 24"wide, 60" long. SOLID WASPALLOY!! Cool stuff . Check the left side of the die on the right, and look toward the bottom, yup, it's a full key:) The pair costs 120K .
