A dragon for today

Recommended Posts

I watched Dan Boone make one of these at the Big Blu Hammer in a few years ago. Finally got around to trying one today. Not sure what he's gonna be yet...Good day at the forge.:)

Say, really nice! I have his book and you're spot on. I still can't get over
the dragon Dan made from the claw hammer. I think it's done with mirrors.

I missed his talk in Memphis. Is there a tutorial/video on this? I have his book, and I spoke for like 5 minutes with him about it, but I don't know that I know enough to get decent results yet.

That is very nice. Here is my first attempt and it is going to be the main post on a fire place set. I will create hangers on either side of the dragon head to hang the poker, broom, shovel etc on.dagon.bmp For some reason you will have to click on the photo link to the left of this sentence to get it to open.

Firebug,
Nice work I like the way you did the nose.
Urnesbeast,
If you go to the Florida Artist Blacksmith Association web site and go to the clinker breaker archives and open I believe feb of 91 you will find an older writeup. If you have a band saw it is easier to cut the mouth with a bandsaw than it is to cut it with a sharp chisel. That's how Dan does it these days.
