Joetnkr01
Hello everyone. This looks like a great forum, just registered. I am new to backyard Blacksmithing and this looks like a good place to get started. If anyone has any helpful hints or tips feel free to let me know. I am located in Central Texas and am looking for tools and an beginner anvil. Thanks.

Thomas Dean
Howdy from East TEXAS!! and welcome to IFI! I'm just out of Longview, about 120 miles east of Dallas on I20. Central Texas is pretty big, how bout a little more info, Austin, Marble Falls, Fredricksburg, San Antonio, Waco, Temple, Goldthwaite, Brownwood...the list does go on... I highly recommend joining the Balcones Forge, www.balconesforge.org, it's the ABANA group in Central TEXAS and covers most of the places mentioned above! They meet monthly (I think) and newbies/visitors are always welcome. I'm sure one of the members will have an anvil or other toys you need or at least can tell you where to get them in that area. If you get up this way I have a couple of anvils, forges, and several vises for sale. Enjoy the site!
