westerwald
All I know is that it is black and synthetic. Any help is greatly appreciated.-Banjoe
pkrankow
Maybe acrylic? Easy to get, shapes nice with common tools, and polishes well and available in a rainbow of colors. Slightly on the soft side as far as resisting scratching goes. Phil
Ken Ra
I have no idea what black case sodbuster handles are but an old synthetic material was Bakelite.
Don A
Enco carries a product called Acetal and they say it is also known as Delrin. I know that a lot of the Case knives with "artificial bone" were Delrin. The Enco catalog shows that they have Black Acetal in sheets (up to 2" thick) and rods (up to 4" diameter). Not sure if this is the stuff, but it's the closest thing I can think of. You can get a foot long 1" rod for around $5. Might be worth a try. Keep us posted. Sweany
Tracy is very helpful. http://www.usaknifemaker.com/ This forum calls it out as delrin. https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/knife_forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4005&start=
westerwald
Thanks Guys, I had a chance to handle some black Delrin yesterday at work. Delrin is close enough for me. It looks so good that it will work. -Banjoe
