Fe-Wood
I think I'm finally getting somewhere. This piece includes spinning, turning, casting, forging and cool patina work and I like it! What do you guys think? It ain't forged steel but what the heck!

ianinsa
Thats really nice! even looks as if it would smell good too! How do you manage to combine the 'gently gently' of the wood with the 'forcy bashy' of the iron? Ian

KTB
The mixture of materials really sets off each detail. I like it, a lot.
Spears
Beautiful multi-media project. It's difficult to beat the look of wood. Thanks for posting. Spears.
Fe-Wood
:D Thanks everyone I am really pleased with this turn of events. (pun intended) Combining all the materials and details without having it look "normal" was a bit of a challenge for me. I didn't want the typical knob on the top. Making the cast and then forged Pewter leaf form was a nice step in a new direction. Beth- I think I'm going to offer it as consignment piece in one of the local Galleries.... Ian- If you like the smell of Carnuba Wax then yes, it does smell good.....
Bentiron1946
Well I hope you earn some money off of this urn! Excellent job! After the holidays I'm going to try and get all of this pewter boxed up for you, I sure got a mess of it. <_<
