A sorry looking bunch...

This picture taken last evening at the shop of Eugene Ratliff. Our group is afilliated with the Appalachian Blacksmith Association and have been meeting in Eugene's shop for three years this month. I've been involved with this questionable group of characters for the past two years. Seriously, you would be hard-pressed to find a nicer group of people...alwayw willing to share ideas, materials, etc.

Question is how does he keep from burning that fine beard when working the forge?

I can't even keep any hair on my arms or hands.... If I leta beard grow that long I know I'd loose it just standing near my forge!

I just had a horrible thought; if I end up having surgery they will probably want to remove at least my mustache if not my whole beard and I'm not into the Amish look!
