robert hanford
Hi, I am looking for a sander polisher that will also accept a wire brush... I saw that some smiths use this instead of an angle grinder which has considerably more rpm. The problem is that I can't find one at a hardware store or home depot that looks right for a wire brush. Also I have no idea where to look for a stainless steel brush. Where does one find this sort of thing? Any help, suggestions much appreciated. Mainely,Bob
Just get a sander that has a 5/8-11 shaft and anything that will work on an angle grinder will work on it too. MSC or your local welding supply house should be able to hook you up with the wire brush of your choice in either carbon or stainless steel. BTW-you will find that at the lower speed your grinding and sanding wheels will also work on some stones too, just use water while sanding/grinding. Be sure you`re plugged into a GFI outlet or an extension cord with GFI added.
evfreek
Hi. I really like the Harbor Freight sander/polisher. It has a variable speed control and tops out at 3000 rpm. It has the 5/8-11 screw on the end. And best of all, it has that familiar Harbor Freight smell to warn you if you are working it too hard. This helps prevent accidents. (If you have one with a power wire brush, you will not forget it soon )
