forgedog Posted June 18, 2010 Share Posted June 18, 2010 Hello all you blacksmiths in america, I've spent 26 0f the last 28 years re- building ,running and managing possibly the last victorian wrought iron rolling mill at Ironbridge in shropshire , england. Now semi retired and living in North west France. also ran blacksmithing courses and still work on the anvil today. any questions about wrought iron ? I've also been a part of a group doing bloomery smelting for about the last 20 years. Great to have another wrought iron guy around! forgedog Posted June 19, 2010 Author Share Posted June 19, 2010 Thanks Thomas, I remember putting in that hammer very well, the legs are 16 tons each and the architect got his sums wrong and they ended up 4" too close together ! took three weeks to jack hammer all the concrete out !!
