Pawel Guba Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Hi all after a long break! It's one of my new work, a piece of railing. all done without welding, using traditional methods. Quote
ThomasPowers Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Beautiful in a nice dark way! (Though I will quibble that forge welding is a traditional method---only welding around for 10-20 times as long as "modern" welding methods have been around.) Quote
ironstein Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Very gothic. Beautiful work. Must have been difficult to reproduce those "pickets" for lack of a descriptive term. Did you use a power hammer? Quote
brianbrazealblacksmith Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 That is angle iron, isn't it? Nice job! Quote
beth Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 thats amazing pawel - really creative. i love it !! yeah it does lk a bit gothic and dark but thats cool - very unusual - an open minded customer! Quote
Dillon Sculpture Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Holy bat man! Nice work, you cutting the angle down or forging? Maybe both? Quote
Pawel Guba Posted May 5, 2010 Author Posted May 5, 2010 Railings made of angle! I cut out the material first and then forged on the anvil. The whole is riveted and painted with graphite paint & patina This is my new project which I will do for the private The client in Ireland. Quote
ironstein Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Very nice work. I like the collaring, and the transition bettween scrolls kind of reminds me of a bolt of lightning. Very nice indeed. Quote
