hammerfell Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 I have looked all over the net trying to find a recipe for refractory clay for blade smithing that will create the classic Hamon heat treated patterns that is found on most japanese swords and daggers. martensite Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 What some people use is satanite.You just mix up a thin slurry and put on 2-3 thin layers.Found some at Ellis Knifeworks for 10$ which gets you 5lb. Quote
