wapiti_forge
Hi folks, I'm new here, so I figured I'd share some of my recent work. I banged out this door knocker yesterday and thought you might like to see it. It's 11" tall and 3" wide. Thanks for a great site. keithgartner
It's beautiful. The drywall screws just take a little away. (very little)

Rob Browne
You "just banged this out"?? Its great I agree about the screws, it would be worth "knocking up" a couple of traditional screws in the same style as the rest of the piece. teenylittlemetalguy
Great job. You can see a lot of hard work went into them, no easy to see what stock you started out with. :)
chyancarrek
Really nice work Brook! Well designed and executed. Will you be attending the NWBA's conference in Chehalis Wa the weekend of the 24th?
wapiti_forge
Thanks for all the kudos. I will probably make some traditional nails tomorrow. You can't see it but it has deep fullered radius about 1/2" from the striking point. I haven't decided yet on the conference. I'm going to the UW full time and I haven't been able to drum up the fees for a NWBA membership since the dues went up. I'd really like to go to network if for nothing else. I live on the GI bill and I get a few knife and blacksmithing orders here and there, so events like the conference are on hold until I'm done with school in a few months. chyancarrek
Brook, Understood, I wish I was able to make it as well as I have could sponsored you as a guest (reduces the admittance for the guest to 35.00) but my schedule is too full to attend. You're doing beautiful work - keep us posted on how it goes! Enjoy!
Nakedanvil - Grant Sarver
If there's one thing I appreciate, it's well formed knockers. I'm sure if you show up, we can find someone to sponsor you as a guest. Or look me up at the conference and i'll make you my guest. PM me if you like. Brasilikilt
That is a lovely door knocker....I can tell that a lot of careful planning (and hammering) went into it :-) A guy with a coal forge and a loud anvil in a metropolitan neighborhood can use ideas like this to keep his neighbors happy :-)

Avadon
Really nice Wapiti, I see a ton of craftsmanship and expertise in what you call "banged out". If I bang something out I generally don't show it online lol to many mistakes. I really like the naturalistic flow.
