Tyler Murch
I finished this one a few weeks ago. I made this for a lady in Alaska from a 9/16 spike she sent me from a gold rush RR there in Alaska. It's got a checkerd grip, and turk's head knots above and below the grip, but that picture came out fuzzy. I had fun making this one. The head took me between one and two hours. V
Hey Tyler, what´s your technique for punching the hole? I always go to one or other side, well not always. Very usable hawk!
Tyler Murch
Same here, Victor. I use an air hardening steel chisel. Taper the sides slightly. Make sure the corners of the chisel are rounded, and sharpen the sides of the chisel as well about half an inch up.
