Glenn
Everyone has heard about brake drums being used for forges, coil springs for chisels, and so on. For August, lets see what you can use from the junk cars that we have not heard about. There are already three (3) Blueprints that use old auto parts in very inventive ways. Extra points for the really creative projects.
JerryCarroll
I hope these qualify. I made them awhile back. The eyed adze is from a late 50's Plymouth torsion bar and the other is from a Chevy nova rear spring.http://www.iforgeiron.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=492&stc=1&d=1155012262
Dodge
Awsome work Jerry. I am going to be changing idler arm and pitman arm on my Dakota soon. Plan to "recycle" parts;) Dunno if I'll get to it for this thread but will post when done!
V
Good ones Jerry, my father had one of these for carpentry. Now, let me know wath you think of this one. From a 3 Ton. Ford Truck leafspring.
JerryCarroll
Nice looking tool Victor, the handle application makes it even more appealing! Add some big headed brass tacks to the hand area to make it an even more so! By the way--the adzes are primarily for bowl making.
Rick Barter
Great work all! I have GOT to get to a junk yard! Anyone know of any in the Louisville area? Heck, I guess I'll just look for Salvage in the Yellow Pages...
BT
I know I'm late posting this, but my entry anyway. A batch of tomahawk heads, the bits are from car spring, the eyes are from material salvaged from a grain truck bed. BT
