LSPDagorhir
Hi everyone, my names Chris I am 18 and live in Birdsboro, Pa. I have ALWAYS been fascinated with the art of blacksmithing ever since I was a (younger) child and would like to get some sort of training in it. Sadly I don't know the first thing about actually blacksmithing, although I am in my second year of my vo-techs welding program and am OSHA certified (don't know if that matters). I am more interested in the medieval aspect of blacksmithing, strictly period, just your bare hands creating works of art. Does anyone know of a place I can get started learning this, maybe a school or someone around me who would be willing to apprentice an inexperienced kid? (Period blacksmithing or not, I will take anything) Thanks for your time

Glenn
Of course you could go to IForgeIron.com > Metalworking Lessons > Lessons in Blacksmithing. This is an introduction to blacksmithing and has a lot of information. To locate a blacksmithing group near you, try Blacksmithing Groups. There are several schools, and instruction that you may want to look into for additional instruction.
