Hey all SouthWest Smiths! Total newbie to smithing and the site. I live near Taunton, and I'm struggling to find stockists who aren't either a rip off (internet national suppliers mostly), or only want to deliver by the ton. All recommendations in the SW welcome, I have a van so not just looking for delivery! Cheers Ross WestfordForge

Hey guys Thordin here I have been browsing the web with a keen interest in blacksmithing mainly focusing on making armor/weapons/rings/necklaces, but am abit worried most people i see on youtube and this website seem to live on farmland or out in the country with neighbours far away while i live in the uk on council property with neighbours that are literally next door. So i was wondering if it would be legal to do blacksmithing with out being reported to the police for making to much noise hammering metal and also burning coal if any1 has any info that could help me id more than pleased.

Any smith in the UK in need of a volunteer? I'd like to learn all about blacksmithing through some kind of work for accomdation type of deal. I'm a total beginner but not afraid of hard work. I would need a place to stay but I can sort myself out concerning food and the like. Just putting it out there. Cheers, Joe

I have a wonderful workshop and really rather need someone else to move in to it - does anyone here know of a good place to find someone? I have tried all the ways I went about finding it myself - Gumtree, various studio and workshop sites, Arts News... I'm in London and it's really rather expensive to be there on my own. So if anyone here knows any blacksmith who needs a space in London, please let me know! It's beautiful and a lovely place to be but I'm not making enough money to rent it on my own. Thanks, Agnes
