  4. Hey fellows, I just wanted to share a little project of mine. Today I forged a spoon to apply borax or sand on workpieces prior to forgewelding. Handforged out of 5/8" round mild steel. Yours - Daniel

  7. Well Folks here are the first few things from my one forge that are recognizable. The rebar "knife" (for knife see butter) was done in a break drum forge with natural lump charcoal. The spoons were done in my one brick forge. Thanks for all the info and advice about what to do and what not to do. So my next question is what to do with them so my wife, daughter and I can use them in an upcoming camping trip. I figured on seasoning them like cast iron, do I need to blue them first. The spoons are not done yet, I need to do more sanding and polishing. Thanks, Ernest.
  8. So this is my first spoon. All advice on form and function is welcome. I am looking for some feedback also on what to tell someone if they wish to use it as it was intended to . Basically how would a someone care for it in their home. how to prevent rust and the sort. if it was a show piece then I would recommend the usually like bees wax etc... But for a spoon what would you do? I know there are food grade oils for cutting boards and counter tops, would these work on bare steel? any Feedback would be good. thanks in advance. Would like t thank crossed heart forge for the idea I tried t make it my own.
