  1. I am new to this forum as I just started trying to do a little blacksmithing with a grandson. Just bought a Buffalo 625 blower and a Champion forge. (147=22). I'm interested in finding the blower that will go on the Champion forge. Don't know which one that is. Any ideas?
  2. Greetings everyone, I recently bought a champion 400 blower, but it unfortunately didn’t come with a mounting bracket for the stand, could anyone possibly lead me in the right direction to find one?
  3. This is the stand alone tripod blower that need some TLC. Not as bad off as the first one. Cleaned polished and added some new shims. She is a 1/47 ratio. Gave her a racy paint job just for the xxxx of it.
  4. Greetings everyone, does anyone have any information on disassembly of a buffalo 700 forge blower?

    Forge blower nonme

This is a blower I just picked up. Can anyone identify it? marked 1077 on one side and 1075 on the other. I have found no maker mark.
  6. I've been attempting to setup a home smithy shop for 40 years. When I was a young guy scouring the desert area around Mojave, CA with my buddies, I came across a repair shop at the Silver Queen Mine, just south of Mojave. I remember popping my head in and saw several workers swinging hammers down on a bent glowing red rod, hammering it straight. The anvil is what caught my eye. 28 years later, I was doing some work for oil companies in Bakersfield, CA and was reading a local classified and came across an ad for "an old anvil". I called the number listed and arranged to see it. The gent explained that he got it from the Silver Queen Mine blacksmith shop. Needless to say, I paid too much and lugged it away. I have moved numerous times and it always moved with me. About 25 years ago, I purchased an unused cavalry hand crank portable forge blower with legs and a tuyere smothered in cosmoline. These items have also moved with me, in anticipation of setting up the shop. Now, I am retired and am looking to find a home for the blower and tuyere. The anvil is a lifetime keeper. I enjoy reading the entries. Keep them coming. Mojave Roadkill Cafe
  7. I relative has an old forge with a blower that had a crank wheel on it. The crank wheel is totaly busted up and the blower crank appears to be busted off flush with the blower case. Can this be fixed and just put a handle on it? I know nothing about blowers. Was planning to use an exhaust motor out of a 90% gas furnace for blower but from what I read a hand blower is more controlable and possably use less fuel. Pic of one similar is attached. pic of forge like shirlys.pdf
