Hey, guys! I've found someone selling a forge + blower for about $70 (I'm converting BRL to USD, so it's no very precise). Only the blower is around $100 here, so I think that just that is enough to keep it, but I want some input from you regarding the "design" (which there's basically none) of this forge: Link removed What you guys think that I should change? Where should I go from this? Also, I wanna share my current forge that I made myself with a brake rotor and some steel: Link removed Cheers! breaker.mp4 blower.mp4

Hi, I'm in the process of making a side blast forge and i want to share whith you. The design is based on Mark Aspery notes, the Main body is almost complete and now i'm working on the Hand Crank blower, inspired in a antique Buffalo flyweel design. Eveverything is Made of scrap ir recycled parts and materials. My idea is to use this coque forge whithout electricity, it will depend on the eficiency of the blower design, but whit the 60cm cast iron wheel driving a 2cm diámeter blower pulley plus the Crank relation of two turns of the flyweel per Crank i think it Will work. The main air tub

Greetings, I have been lurking on this site for several months and am hoping for some solid advice. I am considering building a small smithy in my back yard which will be essentially a shed (for tools) and a large extended roof for my smithy. I currently have a propane forge but want to build a coal or coke forge. I am wondering though, will a side-draft chimney that is open on 3 sides, still draw when used in essentially an open environment. Thanks JB
