Been a while since I've made any knives, but I just had to do this one. littleblacksmith sent me some cable Damascus he made and asked me if I wanted to do a collaboration. First time working with cable Damascus, but it was a blast. The handle is a pretty piece of maple that I cut a couple years ago. Sheath is more maple with leather lining on the inside. Tubalcain2 - thanks for the pointers on doing the sheath! I'm happy with the way it turned out, for being by fist wood sheath, and I hope to more of them. Critiques always welcome!

Cable damascus with perpendicular tang slotted into caribou antler with 3D printed cast bronze medallion. I filled in the gaps of the cable with clear epoxy I mixed gunmetal-blue mica powder into - I always hated how those little gaps were a magnet for all that bad stuff. I made a bunch of these medallions, going to start throwing them on knives I don't want to filework my "N" onto.

It's been a long time since I last posted. After a big move and resetting up the shop I am back to making things. I thought I would share some of the cable knives I made in the last few months. They are forged out of extra improved plow steel cable. The first one has a dyed maple burl handle and leather spacers. The second knife has a bubinga wood handle and a azurite spacer. Frank B.

I have a friend that is turning 19 soon. I have some small pieces of cable I forge welded for practice from the main piece that are too small for much of anything. Anyway what does everyone think would be better to give as a present to her, I have to finish in 9 days though. I meant to get some more gas but have not yet gotten around to it. It will be either a ring or pendant for a necklace. It is not stainless unfortunately.
