Another newbie to this site and to blacksmithing and bladesmithing I'm from Albury New South Wales Australia Have been trolling over tons of good info on here and in the planning stages for a forge and burner. I really like the NARB but trying to find the equialent materail in Australia is xxxx hard.Even more living in a rural region nearly everything has a shipping cost which nearly cost more than the product . But nearly found all the products that should work hopefully hahaha.

Hi everybody I am a brand new black smith......so new I don't have tools or a forge yet. That is something I plan on fixing very soon, Anyway I am from Melbourne Victoria and am hoping to connect with other black smiths in Australia and particularly Victoria. I need some information about where to get supplies in our pixel of the earth, and some handy tips wouldnt go astray either. Anyway It has been nice to meet you all.

Here are a few of the fly presses from my collection. I have an interest in preserving these great old machines. Many I have literally rescued from certain death in the smelter. All are Australian manufactured machines. I restore them by: Completely dismantling Stripping paint and grease from parts Regrinding damaged sliding surfaces zinc priming all parts to be painted. refinishing parts assembling and adjusting press I am looking at techniques of restoring well-worn presses by the addition of silicone bronze to replace metal that has been lost through wear

Hello everyone, my name's Damien, a 21 year old fashion student and part time antique restorer from melbourne with a big interest in Japanese and Chinese antiques and the metalworking methods used on their hardware, armoury, locksmithing, casting and metallurgy and a handful of other related areas. Outside of the metal workshop i've got a soft spot for cabinetry, stone carving, drawing, sewing, history, gardening and insect collecting. Its nice to meet you all :)
