  1. Greetings everyone, does anyone have any information on disassembly of a buffalo 700 forge blower?
  2. Hello! I'm a 5-year blacksmith from East Tennessee, and to replace an old beat up blower that was given to me ages ago, I bought a new (to me) Champion forge blower on the morning of the 27th of October, along with a beautiful anvil and grinder and other tools. I have easily identified everything else to models, makers, and years, but this blower is still a mystery. I can't seem to find the information I need to identify the age and model of this blower, and I would like to know that information if at all possible. I have not been able to clean any of it up as of my posting this question, so please excuse the mess of it, though it is still in very good condition. But in short, my questions are these: might anyone be able to help identify the age and model of this blower?
  3. Can anyone please shed some much needed light on this. I've had this for about ten years. Never did any research I'm very interested in finding anything i can about this. PLEASE HELP!!!! Can anyone please shed some much needed light on this. I've had this for about ten years. Never did any research I'm very interested in finding anything i can about this. PLEASE HELP!!!! This was moved to blowers section and combined with another post on the same subject.
  4. Does anyone have a recommendation on a good coal forge blower to put on my 2" air pipe? What is a good CFM for that size?
  5. I am assembling a brake drum forge and I was wondering possible forge blowers ideas. I was wondering if a leaf blower might do that trick. But I am afraid the force of the air will send the hot coals airborne. A hairdryer maybe, but not really on my top list because I am afraid that it will break from over heating. My best shot I guess is probably picking up a BBQ hand crank blower, but I am not sure. If there are any websites that sell forge blowers or bellows for under $100 or less please let me know. And let me know any other ideas that are handy in a blacksmith shop
  6. I recently bought a forge blower that is marked "Star Forge Co. 01 Buffalo, NY" It seems to be a good, heavy duty blower. I'm curious about the manufacturer because I've never heard of them. Is it possibly another line Buffalo put out...like Cannedy Otto called their low end line "Tiger".
  7. I recently bought a nice champion forge blower. It runs smooth, throws a lot of air and cleaned up pretty nice. The only problem is when you let go of the crank, and the fan slows down, it sounds like the blades are hitting the inside of the housing. It is only when you let go. When you crank it its squared up and doesn't make contact. The crank does have some play. There does seem to be some sort of spacer where the crank enters the housing, but its pretty thin and worn out. Should that be there or did the previous owner add that? Any idea how to fix this wobble or what might be causing it? I'd hate to keep running it this way and destroy the blades. Any idea what model this? It doesn't appear to have one on the casing like some do. Thanks for the help.
