  1. Great work Rory!! I like it very much. Jason
  2. Thanks George. They are pretty hard to get over here. $150 for yours sounds like a very good price. They go anywhere from $300-$650 here. I remember seeing the odd one sitting in a garden or in a back porch when I was younger. I new something wasn't right with that way back then. Jason
  3. Got a phone call from my dad the other day. It turns out that friend of his has kept this aside for me, as he wants it to go to a loving home. Very good of him I thought!! It will be following dad home in the next week or two. Jason
  4. Take great care Colleen. There is only one of you, in this world. Jason
  5. Great work Mark!! Very nice. Jason
  6. My thoughts are with you JA and all those impacted by the quake/quakes. A long road ahead for all concerned. Jason - PN North Island
  7. Awesome work David!!! Thanks for all of the photos and info about it. Jason
  8. Inverter stuff doesn't take the knocks that transformer gear will. From my experience, it can be a pain to get repaired. I buy the best quality gear that I can afford. I by it with the intension to have for many years. Save up and buy the good stuff. Jason
  9. Thanks Billy, its usually the end where I head to. The other stores the car and some other metal and woodworking gear that was my grandfathers. I really like your shop too. Thats a neat old looking building. I see some newish timber on some of the framing. Did you build it there? What was it used for before the smithy? Jason
  10. Looks like its a tube socket, that may have been made/modified to undo car aerial mast nuts. They have the mast going through the centre of the nut where it secures to the guard (fender). The nut has two opposing slots on it. I'm in the motor trade, and have used similar sockets. The "21" sounds like it was metric. I have also seen brass cap screw type bolts with a similar head. It was on some sort of old machinery or engine. Jason
  11. I have built a 100sq metre workshop. This is one end of it. Jason
  12. Great shot!!! What camera and lens were used to take that photo David. Looking at upgrading at the moment, to a wide angle lens of some sort. Thanks, Jason
  13. Heres some shots of the forge, taken by a friend of mine. Will add some more if I can figure it out. Jason
  14. Merry Christmas from NZ you Aussies!!!! If any of you decide to venture across the ditch for a look, and are heading through the lower north island, let me know. Call in for a cuppa or a beer. Take care. Jason
  15. Good morning everyone. It's Christmas day already here in New Zealand. Slightly overcast and warm weather. No snow like some of you on the other side will be experiencing!!! Merry Christmas to you all. Take great care over the holidays. Jason
  16. The Naked Forging Block/Station/Anvil. Buy the block and then dress it with the goodies that you require. Like Barbie (I mean Ken) with all his different outfits!!! Jason
