Gentleman I believe that I have made the best deal in Blacksmithing history!! At least of my short career it is. So here is the story, I was doing a fund raiser at the church and I began idly speaking with someone and she mentioned her dad had a lot of forging stuff. I asked her if she would mind parting with it and she said she would for some help. So today I helped her load up a trailer with cinder blocks, small RR Tracks, and various other things. In return I got 3 Champion forge blowers (all in working condition, two still with stands) A couple pairs of tongs A small hand pump bellows forge I plan on restoring And a heavy duty work table with a perfect post vice attached already!! Two days work and I get hundreds of dollars of stuff! I am going to have to do something special for this wonderful lady, make her something really neat. She has more tongs, two more post vices, a bunch of nice hammers, and a 154lb anvil I am going to try and talk her out of for more help around her place. OHHH MAN I AM SO EXCITED!!!! I'm going to play with my new toys tomorrow and I will have pics up as well!!

You can find a solid metal ball about 2-3" wide on the side of rail road tracks. At least around here I can. : )

I wish I had all those files!!!!!!! So lucky! I use files alot, and I have been having a hard time finding any. : (

HAHA! I have learned some pretty good dance moves as well swordsmanp! Once set my whole charcoal bin on fire inside the small shed where I keep my tools. WOOO!!! Lot of dancing and choice words then! Anyways, ya lots of room to expand we have a 500+ acre farm ; )

Lucky find!! I have been to just about every Antique shop in my area that I can find and none of them have anything like this! I love that one anvil with the anvil/vice combination really neat. I wonder how it is to work on it....

How did you all make your touch marks?? I am interested in making one myself. Always nice to differentiate your work from others and maybe find it again years later. Also its kind of like leaving a bit of yourself with the piece or something like that lol.

Actually there is a tree just behind it, I get shade in the morning, but not during the hot part of the day. XD Poor planning on my part I was in a hurry to get set up, and now I pay for it. :P

Ya a roof I would really enjoy! XD It gets hot here in Tennessee and it's rough working out in the sun. Unfortunately I don't have enough money to get any sort of roof, so i'll just have to bear the sun until then. ; P Oh the tortures we go through for our obsession. lol

If your thinking about using it for anvil I would reconsider. Yes it does work, I have an old piece that I have used, but it rings really bad, a nice high pitched ear piercing ring. So unless you have a good way to quite it down, I would suggest looking for something else, like just a 4x4 block of metal or something like that until you can find an anvil.

Well I have been telling everyone for awhile that I would put up pics of my smithing setup, forge, anvil, etc. etc. So I finally have!
