  1. I bought a very heavy cast Iron sink for $10 to use as a forge, due to the lack of 55 gallon drums at the time. I hooked up the blower pipe, and raised the bottom of the sink with clay I dug up and washed. It's been about 2 days, and the clay is still wet. Can I use the forge wet, or should I wait for it to dry, and how long should it take? Any tips for speeding the drying process?
  2. I am beginning to build a forge, and am wondering where I can get metal to work with. What should I get and where can I find it? For now, I want to forge things like spring fullers and tongs.
  3. I am starting a forge, and am wondering what tools a super noob like me needs to start. I live in southeast michigan and have no idea where or what to look for.
  4. I live in southeast michigan, and am wondering where I can aquire an anvil. I'm sure someone will know.
  5. I have an old heating oil tank in my backyard, and am new to metalsmithing. I am wondering if anybody knows what would have to happen to turn this into a forge. It already has a 1/4" pipe on one end for the oil to drain and doubt that this is sufficient. Anything would help.
