  1. I took JHCC's advice and used a flap disk to grind down the rough spots; then I gun-blued it to give it a black finish. And I must say, it does look much better than before. first picture is the after and the second is before
  2. "if you can't stand to have fun poked at you, then this forum isn't for you." -me
  3. So, what is the difference between a hasp and a hinge?
  4. I had a project inspired by JHCC; I was working on replacing a broken sprinkler and ended up having to make a thread extractor. And it worked perfectly! thanks for the idea!

  8. Got a bunch of work done compared to what I usually do. Almost done with the rose for glenns memorial, and ended up having to make a nail header to finish the stem. All in all, a productive day! i enjoyed making the curl on the handle of the nail header, not very comfortable but i think if i inset it into the handle and made it flush with the side it could turn out very interesting next time ;)
  9. Sketched out a design of a pot stand that you can put in your fireplace as a commission from my brother
  10. I wasn't sure if it was a poem. Thanks!
  11. Hey, this might sound like a weird question, but I'm looking for a poem to use as a class project, and I'm trying to find the poem talking about all of the craftsmen at King Arthur's court sitting in the order of who had made the most items for the castle; the blacksmith was last in line because he had only made the door handles for the castle, but then it was revealed that the blacksmith made all of the tools for the other craftsmen so he was moved to the head of the table. I read it once and thought it would be perfect for this project, but I can't find the name or the poem anywhere. I was wondering if you could direct me to the name or the poem itself. Thanks!
  12. Went to a cool antique shop yesterday, which was a lot of fun, and found a cool little tool! A little hand-crank grinding wheel with a bench mount! And it works!
  13. here is a part of the email I got from some close friends of the Gunters, "Please pray for Rob and Bunty Gunter and family, Their two sons Chad and Brad Gunter both lost their lives in a tragic and bizarre accident on Thursday. They were both killed around noon on Thursday when a semi truck went off the freeway (I-40) and traveled across perhaps two to three hundred yards across the dirt and crashed into the building that both Chad and Brad were working in their blacksmith shop. The truck went practically from corner to corner across the building and completely through the building running down both men in its path." this is horrible news but I would like everybody to have good information about what happened that tragic day
