Yes I want to do a drifted eye axe with a welded bit seeing as all my square and round stock is 1018

Iv been doing it for about 2 yearsand before I saw this comment I was going to correct my self I ment to say about a two lbs hatchet and would 3 lbs be a good place to start

I'm thinking of making a 3lbs hatchet and wanted to know about how many lbs the stock sould be I've only made wraped eye axes/hatchet in the past year I've been doing this and want to try my luck with round or square stock for fun
