Well I haven’t got to use it yet but I tested the rebound with a 1/2 inch ball bearing and I’m getting a solid 80% rebound which is more than I expected.

Was a young guy, said he bought it in 2018, lightly used it and didn’t touch it much since. He put a thin coat of primer on the face and horn to help prevent surface rust from sitting up in his garage.

Yea I’ve heard, I just don’t think I’m gonna find a deal on a steel face anvil around my area. Or I haven’t had luck anyway.

Should I stay away from ductile iron for bladesmithing?

Going to purchase a jhm competitor 260# for $750. I personally think this is a steal, anyone else’s opinion? Louisiana. Looks to be hardly used.
