  1. Thank you for your input, The other manufacturers send their waste to the landfill which we don't want to do, and a few burn their waste in an open fire as well. What is a "retort system" if I may ask? I'll look into lining the system.
  2. Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to post this question but I need some help on an incinerator I am building for dealing with the wood waste from a shed company I am with. We purchased a 10' by 20' round tank, 1/4 inch metal on the ends and 3/16 on the cylindrical part. I have it laying on it's side, built short legs for it to keep it from rolling and cut a 12'x6' door in the top of it with a winch and counter weights to open and close the lid. Then I purchased 3/4 inch round fiberglass rope seal and fabricated a groove or a face up (C) to hold the round fire rope in place around the lid to seal the smoke and also install an 8" vent pipe out the one end with a blower on the other end down low. The whole idea behind this is to capture all of the smoke thru the 8" vent and run it thru a water bath to keep polutions down and have a safe place to take care of the trash. Well, when I tried it out the heat warped the steel around the lid and left a lot of smoke escape in spite of all the re-inforcements I fasted around it, so my question is, 1 .Are there bettter ideas out there for accomplishing this that I haven't found? 2. Should I use a different alloy for the lid that will withstand the heat better? 3. Should I line the tank with firebricks or some other insulation to keep it from getting so hot? Or maybe just bury it in the ground!? Thank you for any help or advice
