  1. Hey Iron dragon This is great thank you . I guess organized was a poor choice of words as it was more layout I was looking for lol. My shop is organized chaos I know where everything is it’s just a bit messy haha which leads to creativity for me lol. So it’s layout I was looking for and these are great. My challenge is I don’t have a shed or out building to work in so I’ll have to set up something outside which isn’t ideal. So it’s a work in progress but knowing kinda what my layout should look like will help me decide what I need to get started at least. cheers
  2. Hey Chris if you are not welding thick gauges buy a mig welder that runs on 110 unless you have 220 hook up in you shop. Do not buy a cheap after market no name brand they are crap! My uncle saw a nice shiny one at the local hardware and purchased it thinking it would do everything he wanted. Called me a week later frustrated asking for help cause he could not get a good bead to save his life. After about 30 minutes of trouble shooting I realized the bloody things drive wheels were garbage and would never work correctly. So back it went. Moral of the story buy a good brand. personally I own a Miller and will always but Lincoln is good too. You can get them second hand but be sure that it’s in good working order and that it has not been thrashed by some shop newbies. Cheers
  3. Hi Gabe love my victor. With an oxy/acetylene set up you have different attachments to choose from. Cutting torch. Brazing ,welding attachments and a hothead torch. Brazing and welding attachments are different sizes for different jobs however it’s terribly slow. If you want to weld get a Mig welder. If you want it for jewellery making then get the specific sized torches for that kind of work. Look up a local welding dealer and go with them. They will be able to direct you to the equipment that best suits your needs and will be able to support you with your questions and set up. One thing you must absolutely get is flashback arresters for your Oxy/acetylene unit. Nothing freaks you out more than having things burning where it shouldn’t and having to keep a cool enough head to remember the correct shut down procedures. Also little tip do not have your tanks wide open, half to one turn is plenty for starting out and in case of emergency shut off is quick. Your local professionals are there to help and will often have beginner courses available cheers
  4. Hi Iron Dragon Yes it came that way and it what drew me to it. Plus the added tool holders for my collection of hammers. I’ve still got a ways to go with purchasing the items I still need and setting up an organized shop. I like everything organized so I don’t waste time looking for things lol. So in the mean time I will be researching and checking out pictures of everyone’s shop set up to see what works and what will work for me. I would like to see a picture of your shop if you’re willing
  5. Hi Thomas Well I guess I have a lot of learning to do lol, not sure what that all means so going to have to hit the books. Pretty sure it’s a cast anvil though. I’ll have to get back to you on the rest haha Hi Iron Dragon Yes the base and mount were part of the package and what drew me to it in the first place. Saved me the time and imagination to create that lol. I particularly was happy to see all the holders for my collection of hammers. Nothing worse than wasting time looking for the tool you need. Still have a ways to go to get the rest items I need and set up a workable shop so I’m going to look at as many photos of shop set ups that I can. I would love to see yours if you are willing
