Thank you all for your help. I confirmed the Grade 8 was for the hardness level of the bolts needed so it's not applicable to compare SCM415 steel to Grade 8 steel since they are used for different parts.

Hello Everyone, Does anyone know what the maximum hardness or strength that Aluminum 6061-T6 can reach if cold forged and then heat treated? China factory suggested using Aluminum 6061-T6 instead of Titanium Grade 1 to save on costs as the strength would almost be the same. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Hi All, Can someone tell me if SCM415 steel is the same quality as Grade 8 steel? I'm looking to order from China and they don't know if it's the same. My customer here in the USA wants Grade 8 or better steel for his product. Only info China could give me is shown below. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
