  3. finishing up a blade I made and running into some trouble with keeping the blade straight steel: 1095 spine thickness: .07-.08 in oil: parks 50 Quench temp: non-mag +4-8 seconds oil temp: 6*C doing best to move blade in up-down motion only on second try immediately after oil stops boiling placed between anvil and a large flat piece of steel, still bent. 3rd try same plus pushing on plate with my weight, not as bad but still some. Now figuring I need reanneal and normalize again before trying any more on the plus side the blade did come out hard (take half a win over a full loss) results: #3 TIA for any help M.J.Lampert

  18. got some more info of the radio's info tag, it's a Canadian made built by roger majestic corp. limited for De Forest Crosley limited. Price in first year of sale 122.95 $ accounting for inflation that would be 2537.09 CAD today. this is some pictures from the net of ones in better shape I don't have the cloth or top as of now edit: found some more info on the company it appears that rogers-majestic bought De Forest Crosby after the parent company tried to expand too fast in the middle of the depression and went bankrupt in '33 here's a link explaining better than I can for those interested (I looked it through and think its ok for the site (if not please remove it mods)) De Forest Crosley Radio – A capsule history | (bcgolfhouse.com)
  19. need to get some pictures but was given an old tube radio cabinet to refurbish it. It has working inners and once I have the cabinet fixed the owner is letting me decide what happens to it. not sure what make or model but there is a stamping on the inside "10/36" and another "Neptune" so my guess is a 1937 model?
