Thanks for the information. I'll keep my eyes open for a anvil in better condition. My father has a welding set up, I'll look into perhaps building it up even if just to give myself some welding experience.

I am looking to begin blacksmithing and I just found this around 80lb anvil at the local flea market for $40. The horn is broken off and it is rusted with a pretty rough face. Thoughts? is it worth trying to get usable?
