Ok, I'll give it a try. It was the number, serial number mabey that really made me want to find out more about it. I know anvils often are serialized but never thought a hammer would. If it helps I figured the orientation would be the same as the 3lb and when I look at it like that I see a face of a person wearing a hat or bandana. Cap, two eyes, a mouth and ears, haha. Looking the other way I see 2 letters BD and it looks like there is some other letter before BD.

Found this at my grandfather's workbench and tried my best to get any info on the marking but found nothing, can't really even tell what it is and figured I would reach out to the pros. I tried to take good enough photos but either way thanks in advance!
