I haven't found a stamp on the vise. It's too dirty to find much. I know they can be swapped. It's hard to say about this one, other than all the parts are there...and obviously hasn't been touched for a long time.

I picked these 2 up today at a local garage sale. The 6" is an Indian Chief. I haven't found a name on the 4" yet. They're both rough. But it looks like I can get the Indian in working order. The screw box and screw on the 4" is in bad shape. These are the first post vices I've bought as I'm still new to blacksmithing. So hopefully I can make one of them work.

As a mechanic I have some home made tools for certain jobs. I know the feeling.

I've recently acquired my grandfathers tools and found a couple I couldn't recognize. He's been gone for 30 years...can't ask him. Anyone in here know what this would've been used for? Looks a bit like a hot chisel, just made into a weird shape.
