  1. Leaves are very distinctive to the smith who forged them. I think that just about everybody makes theirs a little different.
  2. Old estate auctions tend to yield some very interesting finds for forge equipment.
  3. I had the holy grail of objects following me home once.........an anvil!!!! We had stopped by to talk to one of the neighbors and somehow the conversation turned to my blacksmith work and he said well why dont you look at this anvil I got in the shed. I looked at it and he said well just go ahaid and put it in the truck I dont need it in here so I ontained a fairly good condition 110 pound anvil of unknown manufacture.
  4. Its pretty bad for me when you get joked about at blacksmith guild meetings for being a giant. Standing about 6' 5" and weighing in at 255 lbs everybody seems to think it pretty normal that I am of the smithy persuasion.
