  1. I bought a 10x16 shed with an 8' door for about $2700.00. Had it delivered and was ready to go the next day. I'm finishing off the inside with a concrete paver floor and cement board walls for fire resistance.
  2. My collection/pile/compulsion is screwdrivers. I have more than I can count. I found that if I limit myself to working screwdrivers I spend time fixing them so that they work. Not much hope for this one. :-)
  3. We used that type of head when I worked at the Borg Warner plant in Coldwater, MI. We made prototype and limited production run radiators and used that type of torch with natural gas and compressed air to solder the headers onto the core tubes, and in general attachment of tubes, and fittings to the radiator. Nice torch but not a real unique one. We bought them from McMaster Carr by the dozen.
  4. I have a Trenton wrought iron anvil that has the entire hard face missing. It was used hard after the face was gone and the hardy and pritchel holes have the edges curled into the holes. I have read about welding a tool steel plate on top of the anvil but that would be a bigger project than I'm equipped to handle. Sometime in the past a puddle of weld about 3" in diameter was globbed onto the surface right next to the table. The weld is very tough and I wore out a grinding disk bringing it down flat. I read Robb Gunter's method and I think that is what I want to do. The LH 7018 is a rod that I'm very familiar with and I can build up the face easy enough. I don't know about the hardface though. I have had 01 steel built up with tig on the faces of stamping dies and I'm wondering about doing this to the anvil. Any ideas?
  5. Dief, I especially like the bark look on the vine. Dave Union City, MI
  6. When I took the class at Tillers International we used tire irons to make chisels. I still have mine from the class and it works fine. They are cheap and easy to find. Don't use yours from the car you may need it :-)
