Powered, .5 in walls, looks like a cup with a hole in the bottom center. He has a stick welder, so so welder.

I am trying to make some pieces for my uncle so he can weld them to some jackhammer bits to drive T posts. So I was wondering what is the best metal for him to weld together but also something thats not going to shatter when he uses them.
