Collecting and using tools from long ago. I have a collection of and use 100+ year old cast iron cookware. I love old west history, but enjoy indoor plumbing.

  1. Thank you. I'm trying to source a bathroom scale at the local thrift stores. It seems the weights were kind of all over the place.
  2. Hello to everyone on this website. I am brand new to using an anvil and forge although I have wanted to get involved most of my adult life. This year I managed to pick up an anvil and a forge about the same time. They were antique store finds in the same building, but different vendors. $200 for the anvil and $250 for the forge. The anvil is a Trenton 1905 (many thanks to Black Frog for the date help) 120-130 lb range. I don't have a scale except for my back. The forge is a champion hand crank. It was heavily scaled with rust and had a blade missing on the fan. I cleaned it up and repaired the fan blade. I look forward to learning from folks on this site.
  3. Black Frog, your help is greatly appreciated. I will upload a full picture of it. I'm a proud papa. I have waited many years to find one. I purchased it for $200.
  4. I have recently purchased a Trenton anvil and I could use some help with the year it was manufactured. The number appears to be 456994. The other side might be 120 or 130. Did Trenton make a 130 pound anvil? Thank you for all replies.
